Mounties Group and Careflight serving the community: One Flight at a Time

23 Nov 2016

Over the past three years, Mounties Group Board of Directors have voted in favour of Mounties Group providing consistent funding to CareFlight, an Australian aeromedical charity established in 1986 – donating $100,000 per year to support its life-saving services.

For the past 30 years, CareFlight has offered the highest standard of rapid response critical care to the ill and injured. In particular, its rapid response rescue helicopter service based in Western Sydney has been able to save many lives in the South West Sydney region, thanks to the ongoing support from the local community and Mounties Group.

This financial assistance from community organisations has helped CareFlight treat more than 50,000 people over the past three decades, and enabled the creation of a world class medical retrieval service here in Australia.

Financial aid stemming from the generosity of Mounties Group, has helped provide the doctors and aircrews at CareFlight with further instrument and mission training, to assist with their work in rapid response.

Kevin Ingram, Mounties Group President, said: “We are always looking for ways to give back to the local community, and this cause lies close to our hearts. It is also a great honour to have the Mounties logo on the tail of the CareFlight helicopter.

"As many members of the community rely on the services of CareFlight we firmly believe it is an organisation in need of our support," added Ingram. CareFlight CEO Derek Colenbrander said: "We would like to thank Mounties Group for their generous contribution to CareFlight. This level of sponsorship and continuous funding has played a significant role in our success. We are proud to display their logo on the tail of our helicopter; it not only shows our appreciation of Mounties’ support, but also signifies the strength of our partnership."

CareFlight’s mission is to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community. Specially trained doctors and nurses use helicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to all patients.

Since its formation, the organisation has evolved and expanded, and their doctors fly from eight bases to destinations throughout Australia and beyond.
